For the attention of media: the accreditation to the Ist World Traditional Combat Games in the Chuvash Republic

From October 04 to October 08, 2023 Cheboksary (the Chuvash Republic) will host the Ist World Traditional Combat Games. The competitions are included in the Unified calendar plan of interregional, all-Russian and international physical culture and sports events of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

Teams from 17 countries confirmed their participation in large-scale competitions: Russia, Armenia, Afghanistan, India, Jordan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Syria, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Germany, Botswana, Mexico, Zambia and Colombia. According to preliminary data, about 2 thousand athletes are expected to participate the competitions. The venue will be the Ice Palace «Cheboksary Arena».

The competition program will include 8 disciplines: aikido, belt wrestling, all-style karate, kyokushin, koresh, mas-wrestling, hapsagay, Chuvash national belt wrestling «kereshu», as well as 6 types of martial arts: Cossack martial arts, sword fighting, oriental, uchkur, chessboxing, kyrgyz kurosh.

«Our main purpose is to show the beauty and unique character of national sports that develops in Russia and Chuvashia, as well as to expand the tourism potential of the region. In addition, the World Combat Games will be an excellent platform for the international competitive experience of our athletes and a powerful impulse to involve boys and girls in sports schools and sections», notes the Head of the Chuvash Republic Oleg Nikolaev., – отмечает Глава Чувашии Олег Николаев.
